Dolphins: The Moray Firth's famous Bottle Nose Dolphins can be seen at the end of Chanonry Point from the shoreline next to the lighthouse which is less than a mile's walk. Boat trips to view dolphins, seals and wildlife in the area are available from Avoch, Cromarty and Inverness. |

Tennis Courts: Tennis courts are available for hire and are located by the beach in Rosemarkie, where there is also a childrens play area. |

Eating & Drinking: In Fortrose The Anderson Hotel serves good quality bar and restuarant meals. In addition there is a pub, fish and chip shop and a small restaurant all situated on the High Street. Rosemarkie has a former coaching inn serving meals, and a small restuarant with pub situated on the front which has an open outlook over the firth. The local Black Isle Brewery produces a selection of locally brewed beers and is open for visits.

Places to see: The Black Isle has historic buildings and beautiful scenery. The remains of Fortrose Cathedral can be viewed in Cathedral Square, Fortrose. In Cromarty visit Hugh Millars Cottage and Cromarty Court House. The Groam House Museum with Pictish Artefacts is situated on Rosemarkie High Street. For spectacular views over the firth climb the Fyrish Monument near Evanton or explore the Souters at Cromarty. Nearer to Scorrielea you can enjoy beach walks at Rosemarkie. |

Take time to visit beautiful Glen Affric. Each year in June the Highland Cross (a run and cycle from East to West Coasts) runs through this beautiful Glen and then cycles down to Beauly. However you can still enjoy the experience by car! |

Loch Ness & The Monster: Try a spot of "monster spotting" at Loch Ness. If you are unfortunate enough to miss Nessie on the Loch, visit one of the two Loch Ness Exhibition centres located at Drumnadrochit a short drive from Inverness (Bus service also available).

Inverness: Only half and hours drive from Fortrose, Inverness is Scotland's Millennium City with shopping, Leisure Pool, Sports Centre, Cinema Complexes, Eden Court Theatre and much much more. In the summer months open top bus trips are available in Inverness.

Culloden Battlefield & Visitor Centre: Located at the last battle fought in Scotland, it is a short trip outside Inverness. Walk around the battlefield, learn a little of the history of Culloden and the aftermath of the battle.
